Tour America's first National Park, established in 1832, 40 years before Yellowstone! Built around the historic Bath Houses, the National Park lines one side of main street, with shops and restaurants lining the other side. The naturally hot 140-degree mineral springs still supplies the waters for the Bath Houses that were once popular with professional athletes and well-known gangsters and is even available from public fountains in the center of the town and on the Grand Promenade.
Our journey includes a visit to Garvan Woodland Gardens, a spectacularly beautiful 2,010 acre botanical garden that is part of the University of Arkansas School of Architecture. The Garden will be in full spring bloom during our visit!
You will have free time in Hot Springs to walk the National Park's Grand Promenade in the center of Hot Springs, and to enjoy the a traditional Hot Springs bath and massage. We will also include a visit to the only town in America that was the home of three state governors, one US Ambassador, and a US President!
On the third day, we will visit Little Rock, the State Capital of Arkansas, to tour the Clinton Library, perhaps to see the little rock that gave Little Rock it's name, to visit the only site in Arkansas where a scene from 1939's Gone With The Wind was filmed, and to hear wild tales and unbelievable stories about Hot Springs and the
State of Arkansas!
